So I just got Lasik

Like I mentioned in my last post, there’s a lot going on this month! One of the many things on my to-do list is having Lasik done. So I got Lasik yesterday. To be clear, I hate hate hate eyes. I can handle near anything else in medicine, but eyes… *shudder.* So perhaps I freaked out a bit when they were prepping my eyes, first by taping down my eyelashes, then putting the eye opener thing on, and then about 100x more when they started touching my eye, suctioning and making the flap… blind, ahhhhh! That part of the procedure wasn’t painless, but it was tolerable, and just as importantly, it was quick. After they removed the flap (which you can see being removed), the laser does its thing and you just stare at the light. After that the flap gets put back down and you’re done. My vision was blurry right after as if I was under water. But I didn’t feel anything. I went home and napped for as long as I could (~3 hours) and woke up to the most painful sand-in-eye sensation. I cried a ton for about 15 minutes before it was tolerable. The pain slowly improved. I could see better, but not perfect. I started the every 4 hour antibiotic/ steroid drops and the every 1 hour artificial tears. Now I’m about 24 hours out and my eyes feel a little discomfort, but otherwise are ok. My vision is 20/20 with both eyes already, but maybe 20/25 in each separately. My eyes look puffy and have bloodshot marks. Quite sexy.

Phew, well that’s one less thing to worry about! Now back to the whole packing/ moving thing. One week to go until the move! Every time I move I take a look through everything I own and decide if its worth keeping. I’ve already cleaned out cabinets and desk drawers, now all I have left to go through is my closet. I think my new closet will be similar in size, so I don’t have to get rid of a ton of stuff. But at the same time I don’t want to waste time moving and organizing items that I no longer use. And I could really use that extra money from selling to liven my wardrobe back up! I’m totally in a post-ward-months rut. I only want to wear pajamas every single day (like that Eberjey tunic I mentioned before, or the crazy comfy PJ Salvage tee and shorts I grabbed… oh my gosh love them all!). Thank goodness I don’t work from home, I’d never get dressed! I’m not sure exactly what to remove and what to add to my closet. I might just do my default method for what to get rid of, aka, if it hasn’t been worn this year, it goes. I think I look at items in my closet and like the way they look hanging there, but don’t actually like how they look on. So I rarely wear them. I can’t be the only one that does that, right?

I’ve recently been gravitating towards basic but flattering skinny pants and a flowing CYA tops. Its such an easy look, and when I find something that works I stick with it! Sometimes I wear black on black and sometimes something a bit more colorful, like here. 🙂 I typically wear patterns on top, but I might grab a pair of patterned pants or two to switch it up. J. Crew’s Garden Pant has been sitting in my cart since their release (waiting for sale, hopefully). They’re stunning pants, and the reviews have been nothing but positive. Its surprisingly hard to find pretty patterns on basic pants, though. Florals get pretty intense, patchwork bottoms start to resemble pajamas, and even patterns you think are always safe like windowpane can just look off. Hmmm. Oh well. I suppose I have lots of time to look, the selling has to be done first. Always better to clean out the closet before adding!
