Alert and Oriented

Geeezzz, where is time going? We often ask patients what date it is to determine if they’re oriented. I always check the date before I ask the patient as I like to appear oriented myself, and more often than not I find myself thinking something like… ‘it’s already February??’ This past block of nights was especially bad. I guess working lots and sleeping little will do that to you (I had some pretty bad daytime insomnia).

Although it kind of stinks to feel like time is passing by so quickly, its a decent consolation prize that its winter time that’s passing! It hasn’t even been too bad of a winter, but I’m still ready for it to be over.  I really really want to be able to open my windows again… I may just be thinking this right now because as I type my cat is taking the smelliest cat poop I’ve ever encountered. My gosh its awful. Regardless. I’m looking forward to other stuff too! In season fruits, tan skin, sandals, water sports, non-salty cars…

So, what’s up for spring fashion? I have no idea. I have my eye on this chambray blazer, for one. If it fits (crossing fingers), it’ll be the perfect blazer to wear at work with a simple top and some business casual trousers and heels. Speaking of heels, I might need to get another pair of Elsie pumps. Gosh I love them. I wore the hounds-tooth pair today and got complements all day (so so nice for my first scrub-free day back)!! I like this crackle pair they just released, but I think they might be a little too dirt-prone. I’ll probably end up with the rose blossom pair instead to give a little pop of color to my usual black and gray work ensembles.

Other than somehow coming across those few items, I’ve done very very little online retail browsing recently. Its probably a good thing, right? I always feel a little more guilty about spending during tax season when I actually have to witness the amount I’ve spent on frivolous stuff! But I suppose this frivolous stuff is oftentimes making me at least superficially happy. I’d say that’s probably worth it (at least most of the time)!
