Purchase Summary – November 2013

I don’t know about you, but November was a strikingly slow shopping month for me. Prior to black Friday sales, I had purchased (and kept) a grand total of… nothing. I was making an effort to save more, but I really wasn’t trying that hard. There just weren’t any good sales. Or if there were, I guess I missed them. Which wouldn’t be surprising considering my poor laptop died (no online shopping…). I find electronics shopping just as exciting as my brother finds shoe shopping, so I took my sweet time finding a worthy replacement.

So, I did grab a few things when the sales hit. Nordstrom was price matching Shopbop’s tiered sale, so I caved. I finally got the Stuart Weitzman 5050 over-the-knee boots in black nappa. They haven’t arrived yet, but everyone seems to love them! They’ll be my first pair of OTK boots ever. I was soooo close to getting these gorgeous, buttery See by Chloe nude flats, or these classic Jimmy Choo nude peep toe flats. They’re both great wardrobe staples, but I really didn’t need them (but oh, how I want them!). Instead, I added on some black Spanx tights, lol. Much more practical.

And then I placed a jcrew.com order. The 30% off plus 10% cashback from ebates.com was too good a deal to pass up! I finally picked up the Collection cashmere pocket tunic (on sale now, too!) that I’ve been eyeing for months. Wasn’t sure what size to grab, so I got both the xs and xxs. I’ll do a review when it arrives, I’m quite excited about it! I also had to pick up the deep ivy plaid shirt. J. crew seems to come out with at least one must-have plaid shirt each year, and this is the one. I also finally bought my pair of Sloane patent pumps in nude. I bought and returned a pair a few months back and have been waiting to get them for a decent price! These are so comfy. Just high enough to wear out, but low enough to wear to work, at least on easier days! I also tossed the Majesty Peacoat into the order. I’ve tried on previous years Majesty Peacoats and liked them. I haven’t been lucky enough to get one on super sale yet, so I’ll try again this year. I picked the charcoal one up to test out the fit, just in case it’s different than last year’s. My order was getting a bit extensive, so I had to hold back. I was so close to grabbing the silk boy blouse in owl print (adorable) and Collection cashmere long open cardigan. But I didn’t.

So that’s it. Some (hopefully) amazing boots, tights for the holidays, super cozy sweater, classic plaid shirt and nude pumps. Basic, versatile items.  What were your holiday purchases?
