Hair

One of the most frustrating things about moving to a new city is finding new people. A new mechanic, a new doctor (and dentist… gah), and a new hairdresser! Its about time I get my hair cut and colored again. And I’m nervous. I’m not the type of person that gets upset for weeks if they have a bad cut, but I would rather avoid it if I could help it, you know?

I don’t spend too much time on my hair on a day-to-day basis. I wash it about every other night (after a workout) with Redkin’s All Soft or Aquage’s Sea Extend shampoo and conditioner. After I towel dry, I’ll spray my head with some Volumizing Tonic, rub in some leave-in conditioner or moroccan oil, and brush it all out. Then I either braid or twist up my hair and head off to bed. I never really know how its going to turn out in the morning. If I look like crazy Medusa lady, I’ll curl bits of it to give it that intentional “messy” look. If it looks relatively tame, I might try to straighten it. But its being worn curly more and more frequently, which is usually a sign that it needs to be done 😉

I’ve been thinking about possibilities for my hair. I feel like I’ve been trying to grow it out for ages, but its not quite there. Should I just do a trim and keep growing it out? An alternative that I’ve been weighing is going for a just-below-the-shoulders “bob” cut. But that might require some effort in the morning. And for color? I don’t mind my current shade of faded brown. But it might be time for a change. Maybe some low-lights will do the trick? I don’t know. I seem to always want to change up my hair new fall time. Do you ever get that?
