I’m in the market for a new pair of neutral pumps since my old Mona’s and Valentina’s are pretty worn out. I decided to pick up the Everly cap to leather pumps during this past 25% off sale, even though the suede Everly’s were pretty disappointing. Well, here are my thoughts on these.
Sizing: I grabbed these in a 6.5, which is my usual size in J. Crew heels (Mona, Valentina, Etta). They fit perfectly, no issues there.
Comfort: The pointed toe on these is too “stumpy” for my toes, I think. My toes awkwardly hit the front, as they did on the other Everly’s. Ugh, so close to perfection! Otherwise the heel height is wonderful and totally stable. They didn’t rub anywhere. And I had no heel slippage when I did some test walks.
Price: I paid $200 for these on sale (plus 7.5% cash back from shopathome.com) and the only way I would have kept them if if they fit perfectly. Regular price is $258, which is pretty steep in my opinion.
Quality: These are actually quite good quality. The leather is smooth, the color is saturated and beautiful. There are no funny marks or imperfections, at least on this pair! It almost justifies the price.
Overall: I adore this shoe, but am not willing to keep them due to the toe-hitting-the-front issue. They could quite possibly break in and be perfect. If this pair actually goes on sale I might try them again. Not sure. Until then I’m testing out some other J. Crew heels, so get prepared for more reviews!!
