J. Crew Martina Patent Wedge Review

I just recently posted a review of the J. Crew Everly Suede Pumps (here). They were less than what I was expecting quality-wise, and I ended up returning them. I got these in the same order and am much happier with them!
Sizing: The J. Crew site says to size up by 1/2 size on these. I did just that and got a 6.5 (I’m a 6). Now, I typically size up to a 6.5 in J. Crew heels so I have some extra room for a cushion for added comfort. But for this pair, there really was no extra room. This shoe definitely fits 1/2 size small, so size up.

Comfort: This shoe is like a much more comfortable version of the Mona Pump, which I love. It has a easy-to-wear almond-shaped toe box, which doesn’t squish any of my toes. The wedge makes the 3″ heel super comfortable. This pair is about 1/4 size tighter than I would want, so I won’t have any room for extra cushion. I don’t think that I would size up a whole size to a 7, though.

Quality: This pair is pretty well made. I love the sole, although it is a little slippery at first. The patent leather is nice and smooth and thick. Its comfortable now, but will likely break in and show a few wrinkles, which I’m ok with. This pair had no weird stains or glue or anything.

Price: These were on sale when I bought them. I can’t remember exactly how much they were, but they were around $115 after the discounts. They are intermittently showing up at full price now, for some reason. If you can pick them up on sale, I’d say go for it!

Overall: A great pair. Nice color, classic style and very comfortable. Just make sure you size up, as these run 1/2 size small!

Let me know if you have any other questions!!
