Matt Bernson Waverly Flats & Espadrilles

I think I’m going to give up wearing anything other than flats for a while. My feet are constantly sore from my regular 12 hour days and weekly/ biweekly 28 hour “days.” After my last 28 hour shift, I came home slightly delirious and extremely foot-sore and went onto There are just so many choices out there for footwear. I ended up buying three pairs (five, if you count the ugly Danskos I got):

  • ¬†What swayed me to go for Matt Bernson Flats is the elastic, cushy heel as well as the extremely supple-looking leather. They also have the simple, chic look, similar to the Tory Burch Eddie or Lanvin flat. I’m a size 6 but have found that my shoes that run large are significantly more comfortable to wear for the whole day. Since reviews said that these run 1/2 size small, I ordered one full size up. Aaaaannndd… I LOVE them. Love. These are the most comfy flats I have tried on. I had no heel discomfort, no toe squishing (like I get with Revas), no funny blisters… nada. I’m debating getting these in every color. They look fine- very plain. I like the sparkly ones a lot. I’ll take full outfit pictures soon so you get a better idea of how they look.

  • At about $28, these seemed like a great buy. I wanted them for the same reason as the regular MB waverly flats, and because they had a subtle unique feel to them. The only drawback was that they are a spring/summer/fall shoe only (or they should be, right?). But for the price I figured I’d get enough wear this season, and could just pull them out again next year. I do wish these were a size 6.5 because the 6 is a bit snug, but hopefully they’ll stretch out. These seem to run a 1/2 size bigger than the regular Waverly’s.
