5 Minute Makeup Regimen

At the end of this month I’ll be starting my surgery rotation, so I’ve been trying to narrow down the makeup that I’ll bring with me for overnight shifts, or times when I just wont have a chance to go home and refresh. I came up with a few things that are absolutely essential in making me look presentable.

1) Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat Radiant Touch in #8 Radiant Silk
This is so expensive, but is the best concealer I’ve ever tried. It brightens up my undereye area without looking cakey or weird. It’s also amazing at covering red spots or imperfections. The pen does actually last me quite a while (about 2-3 months), and I only need a click or two per day.

2) Everyday Minerals Intensive Base in Light Neutral (discontinued)
I’ve used this powder for longer than I can remember. Everyday minerals is great because they have free samples, so you can try new colors and you aren’t out much money (just pay shipping). Shipping is extremely reasonable, too. The bases come in different formulas that you can try. I prefer the intensive base because it gives buildable coverage and is pretty good at keeping the shine at bay (my skin is normal to oily now, normal to dry in winter). Update: it has been discontinued 🙁

3) Nars Blush
These are without a doubt the best blushes I’ve ever tried. I have “Orgasm,” which was my first Nars Blush and its a beautiful natural pink. My most recent two are “Luster” and “Sin.” Luster is basically a bronzer, and looks great by itself or with a tad of pink over it. “Sin” is a deep berry color, and I wear just a touch of it over “Luster.” The Nars blushes stay on all day for me and you can either do a natural look, or something with a little more spunk. The camera makes these colors look brighter than they are in real life.

Before & After Blush

The above steps take me about 3-4 minutes to finish. If I’m feeling ambitious, I’ll curl my lashes and put on some mascara and gloss. Right now I’m using a Dior mascara and Bare Minerals sample gloss, but pretty much anything works. Taking those extra two minutes makes a huge difference. Sorry for my funny faces throughout this!

Hopefully some of this is helpful. I wear these same three products in the summer and winter and have never had a problem. If anyone has other products they swear by, I’d love to hear!
